This position will fall under the Engineering Product Integrity (EPI) Department within the Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED). MED provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). EPI defines, establishes and leads our hardware engineering environment within MED. The Design Integrity section within EPI is responsible for the verification of mechanical designs, conformity to drafting standards, standard processes, preferred materials, accurate and producible dimensions and tolerances, and the computer aided design (CAD) metadata underlying our 3D models. EPI executes across all phases of a program including proposal capture, design and process development, transition to production, and production support. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: ?Provide Hardware Configuration Management (CM) support for the Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business area specializing in configuration management of CAD data. Ensure compliance of work product to engineering guidelines and interact with internal customers to support corrections to work product to meet those guidelines. This candidate should have working knowledge of Common PDM or equivalent and Microsoft Office.
?Individual will examine engineering drawings, check associated computer aided design (CAD) database files, and related documents for completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy.
?Uses computer assisted design (CAD) systems to check design layouts, detail and assembly drawings, electrical schematics and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications.
?Verifies CAD metadata and parameters for designs being placed under formal configuration management control.
?Checks work correctness.
?May assist in directing work, assigning and outlining tasks.
?Utilizes computer-aided design equipment to review 3D models. Note: This position can be a salary Grade G06 or G07 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and the responsibilities required for the position. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position may need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Required Skills: ? Up to 2 years of e xperience interpreting engineering drawings and documentation and CAD modelling practices and applying them to work products. Desired Skills: ?Ability to work in a team-based environment consisting of organizational contacts to meet project goals. ?Experience preparing files to comply with export marking requirements
?Familiarity reading and interpreting reports from release verification and model check tools
?Experience with internal customer support and interface
?Working knowledge of Configuration Management processes specific to CAD metadata management
?Ability to interpret scheduling requirements
?Experience handling proprietary/classified data
?Understanding of engineering concepts
?Working knowledge of industry Configuration/Data Management with respect to CAD data
?Experience with RVTR (Release Validation Tool Replacement) and disposition of errors and warnings
?Experience with Creo or equivalent CAD software
?Experience with Common PDM (Windchill)
?Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
?Knowledge of Raytheon Drafting Standard, Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation checking
